Gary’s journey into readiness didn't begin in a classroom, but on a hillside in the shadow of the Cuban Missile Crisis. As a child, he watched the "Way of the World" unfold through the roar of heavy bombers and the digging of a family shelter. But it was in a Junior High Bible study where his true foundation was laid. Having been led to Christ, Gary realized that a ministry that ignored the "storms" of life—whether they be spiritual, emotional, or physical—was a weak witness.
From early days in radio communications to serving as an Operations and Training Officer in the Army and National Guard, Gary has spent decades "warning of trouble on the horizon." This mission came into sharp focus during the 9/11 terrorist attacks and with the 2005 Hurricane Katrina. During these times of crisis, his military training, emergency services expertise, and 50+ years of pastoral heart converged as he served his community and congregation simultaneously.
Today, Gary lives on a family farm with his wife, children, and grandchildren. His goal for the Christian Readiness Project is simple: to ensure that no child is frightened by a family’s efforts to be prepared. He believes that when readiness is done the "Way of the Lord," children don't see panic—they see the love and provision of Christ in action.
Replacing fear with faith grounded in the Word. We help believers understand readiness through the "Way of the Lord" rather than the "Way of the World."
Seeking wisdom, discernment, and emotional stability from the Holy Spirit to remain a calm presence when others are driven to flee.
Managing time, talent, and resources to serve family and neighbors as a witness of God's love during times of great adversity.
